6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

For this section I have created a video showing all the pieces of software and hardware that I have used throughout the whole project. Here is a list of them and the reasons why I used them:
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 - I used this software for the actual making of my magazine. I edited photos and created each page on here, using all of the tools provided.
  • Microsoft Office Word 2007 - I mostly used this program for my research and planning. I made notes on each area and added pictures. I then uploaded the documents on scribd and then embedded them onto my blog.
  • Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 - Publisher was mostly used during the making of my magazine. I added images onto the program, edited them and saved them as JPEG images.
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 - This program was mostly used in the research and planning section and also my evaluation. I used it to present my ideas at each stage I was at.
  • Slideshare - This was used after I had produced my powerpoints so that i could embed the slideshow onto my blog.
  • Animoto - Animoto was another way of presenting my ideas. I also used this program in my research and planning stage and my evaluation. This is a good way of presenting key ideas and notes.
  • Samsung digital camera - I used this camera to take pictures for my magazine. This includes my test shots and the photos leading up to my final magazine.
  • HP memory stick - I used this memory stick to store all of my coursework on. My magazine was on there and some of my research and planning. The majority of my work is located on my blog.
  • CD-ROM - This was a backup with my coursework on in case anything happened to my memory stick.
  • Mobile phone (blackberry) - I sometimes used my mobile phone if I had a sudden idea and I went on the internet to research. This was a quick way of finding something out that I may have needed for my coursework.
  • Internet explorer - I used the internet a lot for my research and planning. This was to look at other magazine covers and to also locate the websites such as blogger, google, scribd etc.
  • Google - Google was used as a search engine to find specific information. It also came in useful for finding images and magazines.
  • Paint - I used paint for editing images and text. I could then paste the image into Publisher and save it as a JPEG.
  • Laptop - I used my laptop for the majority of coursework. Whether it was to access my blog, the internet, use paint, Microsoft Office, Facebook and Photoshop for the making of my coursework.
  • Facebook - Facebook sometimes came in handy when I needed help or advice for something. I could get someone else's opinion on something I had found or created which helped me decide whether to use it or not.
